What is LifeOmic?
The popular LIFE Extend and the LIFE Fasting Tracker apps from LifeOmic helps users lose weight and live healthier lifestyles. I worked in-house at this startup supporting their mobile efforts after initial release as a design resource of one keeping a remote team of 18 - 25 front end and back end developers busy and moving efficiently as we improved the app and added new features.
What we needed to Achieve
I worked very closely with Product and Technical Directors to help define requirements and understand resource availability. The base foundation of the apps were built before I joined the company and many of the previously existing experience decisions had been driven by tech constraints to get features out into the market. I reviewed their existing experience and worked with the team to make the existing app features more user friendly and led the charge on all new design features.
Results
As the sole mobile product designer at LifeOmic, I led design initiatives that aligned user needs with business outcomes, supporting a remote engineering team of 18–25 developers over four years of continuous growth.
I evolved an engineering-led UX foundation into a more user-centered experience while maintaining a continuous pipeline of production-ready design work that improved development efficiency, elevated product quality, and drove new feature initiatives from concept to completion.
The results were evident in both product adoption and customer satisfaction. The app maintained a 4.8 out of 5-star rating across more than 90,000 reviews.

Organizing health and fasting data to provide insights and track progress.

Building a Community
To support users throughout their health journey, we created a community platform where members could connect, share experiences, and encourage one another, while health professionals provided trusted guidance and expertise.
Watch and Widget Companion Apps
We created a simple companion app so users could track their on-going fasts at a glance.

Content Organization
As more types of content became available, search and filter tools were created to help users find what they wanted and help draw awareness to explore.

Analyzing the usage data revealed significant drop-off during account creation, particularly at the password step. By simplifying the form, clarifying requirements, and improving error recovery, we reduced friction and significantly lowered abandonment.

User profiles displayed fasting progress, helping members feel connected through shared goals and experiences.

Subtle on-load animations added energy to the experience, making the interface feel more engaging, add moments of delight throughout the experience, and reinforce content hierarchy,
